Both a very serious enterprise and a really fun time, The Institute of Collaboration and Play purports to serve as an umbrella for ideas and experiments related to collaboration and play for artists and citizens.
IFCAP's signature program is the PLABORATORY (A Laboratory for Play). Many ideas and reflections about the PLAB are posted on the IFCAP Wonderblog. IFCAP can also be found on FaceBook, where updates pertaining to IFCAP programming and ideas as well as opportunities to play and collaborate with others are regularly posted.
IFCAP is virtual and nomadic think/action tank, whose thoughts/actions come from the following questions:
What defines Play?
What defines Collaboration?
What are the conditions under which collaboration works?
What is a working collaboration?
How do we collaborate?
How do we play?
How do these aspects inform creative practice, contemporary art and performance, and life?
What are the qualities that, when present, give creative practice, contemporary art and performance, and life, that unmistakable sense of Aliveness?
