artist statement
I am an interdisciplinary artist working in performance, image, language, movement and music to excavate moments of unexpected transcendence wherein we share a surprise laugh, sigh or sob from deep in our bellies.
I work with real and imaginary worlds, unexpected juxtaposition, longing/belonging, a hand-crafted aesthetic, an exploration into the necessity of narrative and artist/audience exchange throughout my artistic practice.
Via improvisation, experimentation and collaboration, I explore the roles of humor, honesty, hope and humanity in art and life, asking: how do transformative moments happen?
In art I seek the answers.
